Quiet Solution Ships 1,000,000th QuietRock Panel to Joie de Vivre Hotels

SUNNYVALE, CA - Quiet Solution, the market and technology leader in soundproof drywall, announced today that it has shipped over 1,000,000 panels of QuietRock® soundproof drywall. Joie de Vivre’s 197-room boutique Citizen Hotel in downtown Sacramento purchased the one-millionth panel. “QuietRock helps us deliver a quiet, restful, luxury experience,” said Brian Larson, managing director, the Citizen Hotel. “Soundproofing with QuietRock was less expensive than any other approach we looked at when you include materials and labor, and it will help us finish the project on time and on budget.”
Joie de Vivre used a variety of QuietRock panels at the Citizen, including QuietRock 525 and the new QuietRock DensArmor Plus 528, a highly mold- and moisture-resistant panel made in partnership with Georgia-Pacific. “QuietRock 525 allowed us to use fewer layers of gypsum board, while maintaining the desired STC ratings, thereby reducing labor costs. QuietRock 528 was ideal for sound walls that required a tile backer board,” said Todd Browning, district manager of Boyett Construction, Inc. of Rocklin, California. Using fewer layers also means the project uses less material and less energy—important green building objectives.
The project’s architect, Gary Murakami of VITAE Architecture, said “using QuietRock is a no-brainer.”
Acoustical Materials Services (AMS), one of Quiet Solution’s many authorized product dealers, is supplying QuietRock for the project. “Demand for effective – and cost-effective – soundproofing is soaring,” said Tom Fischbeck, vice president of sales, AMS. “We’re seeing fast growth in QuietRock sales on both commercial and residential projects.”
