Distribution centers are inherently noisy locations. Usually, they are cavernous “big boxes” stuffed with box handling equipment, conveyor belts, forklifts, chutes. These facilities experience two types of noise problems: (i) inside the facility; (ii) office workers adjacent to the facility.
The goal is usually to take at least 10 dB of noise out, across a broad frequency band. The first line of attack is to coat all the material-handling moving parts with QuietCoat. If that achieves the desired level of quiet, then all is well. If not, we recommend adding QuietRock to isolate the office workers from the noisy area.
Damping noise and vibration has traditionally been costly and risky – until now. Quiet Solution offers distribution centers a complete line of high-performance products to soundproof machinery, and the associated buildings and vehicles. Using a new generation of viscoelastic polymers, it is now possible to achieve high levels of quiet with a fraction of the bulk, weight and cost of traditional technologies.
The most effective way to mitigate distribution center machine noise and vibration is to coat as much of the handling equipment as possible with QuietCoat viscoelastic polymer. The other approach is to contain the noise by building soundproof areas.
