Commercial and residential construction infrastructure can be extremely noisy. Elevators, escalators, HVAC units, swimming pool pumps and filters generate engine and electrical noise that is often irritating.
The goal is usually to take at least 10 dB of noise out, across a broad frequency band. Machinery rooms can be soundproofed with QuietRock. Also, machinery operating under 150 degrees Fahrenheit can be coated with QuietCoat.
HVAC is especially challenging, as the noise becomes airborne immediately. The best solution is to enclose the HVAC unit – either completely (with baffles for air inlets and exhausts); or by building a sufficiently tall wall to isolate the sound. Always either suspend air handling equipment or mount on resilient pads (neither product is supplied by Quiet Solution). The goal is usually to take at least 10 dB of noise out, across a broad frequency band.
Damping noise and vibration has traditionally been costly and risky – until now. Quiet Solution offers the construction industry a complete line of high-performance products to soundproof infrastructure. Using a new generation of viscoelastic polymers, it is now possible to achieve high levels of quiet with a fraction of the bulk, weight and cost of traditional technologies.
The most effective way to mitigate infrastructure noise and vibration is to coat as much of the equipment as possible with QuietCoat viscoelastic polymer. The other approach is to contain the noise by building soundproof areas.
