Modern commercial, residential and multi-family structures have progressed faster, and urban density has increased so dramatically that traditional materials can't provide legally-required sound suppression. This sound problem costs billions per year in construction costs, human suffering, declining occupancy and litigation over unacceptable noise levels.

A Word From the Field
"We are challenged with the task of exceeding the minimum standards required for STC ratings on one of our luxury townhome projects. Staggered stud configurations are extremely difficult at best to achieve their design standard STC rating. Quiet Solution provided the much needed answer to this challenge by allowing us to "sandwich it" with QR-530. The performance of QR-530 exceeded our expectations and gave us the ratings we were after without all the headaches. QR-530 was the perfect solution to the problem as well as our new standard of construction."

In fact, noise is the #2 reason home owner associations sue behind moisture and mold. Traditional construction methods such as Resilient channel construction, is now known to be highly susceptible to short-circuit failure. Up to 90% of walls built with RC channels fail immediately or within two years. QuietRock soundproof drywall achieves totally reliable Sound Transmission Class ratings. Using QuietRock is the only solution for party wall and floor/ ceiling that cannot be short-circuited, thus reducing litigation and warranty repair contingent risk and associated insurance premiums.
Double stud construction has often been used for achieving high STC ratings but imposes a dead-space penalty. QuietRock achieves the same or higher STCs with simple single-stud construction, thus recapturing valuable sellable floor space (up to 3 – 5% sellable space per unit), reducing labor, structural load, materials and construction time. The extra 30-50 square feet of sellable space (at $125-$300 per square foot) results in an immediate return on investment that far exceeds the cost of the materials.
By using Quiet Solution products, builders and developers greatly reduce the amount of materials required, and see returns through added floor space, increased occupancy and less litigation.
Specifically, QuietRock soundproof drywall allows multifamily architects and builders to:
- Achieve lowest overall cost to ensure STC 50-68 for party walls and floor-ceiling assemblies
- Capture and sell previously dead space using thin single stud versus double wall construction
- Dramatically reduce contingent liability and warranty risk from noise complaints
- Crush annoying low-frequency noise from highways, railroad lines, airports, home theaters
