New Survey Shows Soundproof Drywall Awareness Grows

Sunnyvale, CA, – Quiet Solution, the market and technology leader in soundproofing solutions, announced today the results of a nationwide survey focused on acoustic issues in construction, and awareness of specific products. The results reflect strikingly fast growth in awareness of and preference for the 5-year-new category of soundproof drywall.

The survey, conducted in July 2007, received 378 completed questionnaires. Respondents were drawn from a pool of over 100,000 industry professionals. 41% of respondents were architects, and 59% were contractors, developers and builders.
Key findings include:
- 68% were familiar with soundproof drywall as a means of soundproofing. This is the same number that it has taken forty years for resilient channels (RC) to achieve.
- 61% have used soundproof drywall. This far exceeds the 32% for mass-loaded vinyl and is comparable to the 66% for sound clips.
- The most important factors in a decision to use a soundproofing product are high performance (86% say very or extremely important) and reliability (84%).
- QuietRock is a highly-recognized brand and product. 70% have some familiarity, with 24% stating they are very or extremely familiar. This number is comparable to 20 year old, heavily marketed building products.
- Eleven times more people are very familiar with QuietRock than they are with other brands.
QuietRock is the brand people think of in the category, period.
- 82% consider QuietRock a high performance product and 82% consider it easy to use.
- 94% may use QuietRock on future projects and 91% may recommend QuietRock to others.
- Over 90% of professionals who have used soundproof drywall chose QuietRock.
