Announcing New QuietRock DensArmor Plus 528

Our newest QuietRock combines the superb mold, moisture, fire and abuse- resistance of DensArmor with our high performance noise reduction. It is ideal for use in areas that are exposed to moisture during construction or occupancy, which can help avoid major delays and costly rework. This includes commercial construction such as hotels, schools, healthcare facilities and multifamily; as well as

residential construction, such as bathrooms and basements. A single layer of our new product on a single steel stud wall provides an STC rating of 56. QuietRock DensArmor Plus 528 is 5/8” thick, UL-classified, Type X, contains no metal inside the panel, and hangs, installs, and finishes the same as standard drywall. Available now. Installing QuietRock: Practical Tips for Large Projects

All QuietRock panels install and finish like standard drywall. You can score and snap QuietRock 510, 525 and 527, but it’s somewhat different than gypsum. We recommend a deep double-score of the backside, an optional score of the paper side, and snapping over a straight edge (see video). It takes somewhat more care and pressure than a gypsum board, and people do it everyday. Large projects may find it simpler, quicker and more cost-effective to use an impact saw with a high tooth count carbide blade and a vacuum attachment, plus a rotozip with carbide blades for cutouts and corners. By planning for this,

your drywall steps will go more smoothly and it adds less than two cents per square foot for labor (at full costs, national average). And your QuietRock-based wall assembly will still come in at the lowest total cost for your noise reduction target – click for details.
