All QuietRock panels install and finish like standard drywall. You can score and snap QuietRock 510, 525 and 527, but it’s somewhat different than gypsum. We recommend a deep double-score of the backside, an optional score of the paper side, and snapping over a straight edge (see video). It takes somewhat more care and pressure than a gypsum board, and people do it everyday. Large projects may find it simpler, quicker and more cost-effective to use an impact saw with a high tooth count carbide blade and a vacuum attachment, plus a rotozip with carbide blades for cutouts and corners.
